March 30, 2022 - Game Devs of Color, Inc. is excited to announce that submissions for speakers and games are now open for the GDoCExpo 2022. The event, taking place online September 15-18, is an annual conference that works to uplift and amplify the work being done by creators of color in the games industry. If you're a developer with some knowledge to drop or a new game to share, this is your opportunity to connect with colleagues and fans from around the world.
Now in its seventh year, GDoCExpo has grown to become a truly global event. Originally an in-person gathering in New York, the COVID-19 pandemic created an opportunity to move online and further expand its reach. Last year's event was the organization's largest yet, showcasing 61 games and 48 speakers and panelists -- and awarding more than $150,000 in grants to game creators of color.
"In the last few years a lot of our speakers and game applicants have gone on to do big things in the games industry," said Shawn Alexander Allen, co-organizer of Game Devs of Color Expo. "GDoCExpo is all about finding the future of games and sharing them with a global audience, so please submit! We can’t wait to meet you and hear what you’re all about."
Game developers who are interested in participating in the event as a speaker or as part of a panel are encouraged to apply here. Developers interested in showcasing their games are encouraged to apply here. Submissions close Saturday, April 30 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. There is no fee to apply.
An archive of talks and interviews from past events can be found on the Game Devs of Color Expo YouTube Channel.
